Goals and funnels

Goals

A goal marks a page or event as a successful outcome. Use page goals for stable destination paths and event goals for product actions that do not change the URL.

Examples include:

  • /signup/complete
  • Subscription started
  • Report exported

Goal reports count conversions within the active date range and filters.

Funnels

A funnel is an ordered list of page and event steps. AnalyticsHQ reports how many visitors reached each step and where they left the sequence.

Keep funnels focused. A short funnel with named product outcomes is easier to interpret than one that mirrors every screen.

Date ranges and segments

Funnel results accept startDate and endDate and use the same filter model as the rest of AnalyticsHQ. A saved segment can narrow a funnel, subject to the minimum audience threshold described in Filters and segments.
